Congratulations to Johnny Collins of Brown Island Stables on an excellent sale at Arqana in Deauville on Saturday.

Johnny sold two American-breds at the two-year-old sale who were bought through Chad Schumer as yearlings, namely a Lonhro filly out of Royal Crystal and an Arch colt out of Much Obliged.

Alex Elliott signed at €130,000 for the Lonhro filly, which represented a fine mark up on the $20,000 paid by Chad at last year's Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Sale.

Meanwhile, the Arch colt is set to be trained by Kevin Ryan after falling to Stephen Hillen for €100,000. He was pinhooked for just $25,000 through Chad at last year's Keeneland September Sale.

An afternoon of quality stakes action on Friday saw Schumer Bloodstock celebrate several high-profile results, notably at Churchill Downs on the Kentucky Oaks undercard when Rocket Heat and Paid Up Subscriber won within hours of each other.

Paid Up Subscriber, by Candy Ride, took her earnings past the $150,000 mark for Albert Stall with an impressive victory in the allowance race, her third win in seven starts. Previously fourth in the G2 Prioress Stakes, the four-year-old is out of the stakes-placed Shriek, who was purchased by Chad Schumer as agent while in foal to leading sire Scat Daddy for just $37,000 at the 2014 Keeneland November Sale.

Paid Up Subscriber is the third foal and winner out of her dam following the multiple scorers Hardware and Race Hunter. Shriek, a half-sister to G2 winner Stanley Park, also has a two-year-old colt by Mineshaft that realised $97,000 as a yearling.

Rocket Heat, meanwhile, flew the flag for his sire Latent Heat with an authoritative two-length win in the G3 Turf Sprint Stakes.

Now the winner of six races and nearly $320,000, Rocket Heat is a son of G1 winner Latent Heat, who was purchased for stud duty by Chad Schumer on behalf of River Oaks Farm in Oklahoma in late 2012. The Juddmonte-bred son of Maria's Mon is standing the 2016 season for $3,500.

At Lone Star Park, Great Minds recorded his third win of the year when successful in the G3 Texas Mile.

A consistent progressive performer for trainer All Stall who has won five races and nearly $300,000, Great Minds is out of Staff Nurse, a winning daughter of Arch bought for just $15,000 by Chad Schumer while in foal to Trappe Shot at the 2015 Keeneland November Sale.

The son of Stroll is the best of five winners out of his dam, who is a three-parts sister to Listed winner Intern and from the immediate family of Commissioner.

Thursday's action at Churchill Downs saw Front Pocket Money make it two out of three when successful for Steve Asmussen in the allowance. The son of Uncle Mo is out of the Fusaichi Pegasus mare Turbulent Times, a private purchase by Schumer Bloodstock in 2014.

The three-year-old, who was winning for the third time in four starts, is by The Visualiser and out of Dance Softly, both of whom were purchased by Chad Schumer on behalf of Warren Center's Center Hills Farm.

Welder scored comfortably by two and a half lengths from Perfect To Please to bring his earnings to approximately $80,000.
Bred by Center Hills Farm, Welder becomes the second stakes winner from 34 foals aged three and above by The Visualiser.

Ibn Malik, one of the leading British-trained two-year-olds of last year, gained a deserved stakes success today when the easy winner of the Listed Free Handicap at Newmarket. His half-sister Osratty was bought for just 13,000gns by Schumer Bloodstock at Tattersalls in July 2013.

A debut winner at Newmarket and runner-up to Emotionless in the Champagne Stakes (Gr.2) at Doncaster last year, Sheikh Hamdan's three-year-old proved he had trained on well with an impressive front-running performance to score by two lengths from Scrutineer.

Ibn Malik and Osratty are out of the regally-bred Storm Cat mare Moon's Whisper, a record $4.4 million yearling purchase by Shadwell who is a daughter of French Champion and Classic winner East Of The Moon. Her second dam is the legendary Miesque, dam of Kingmambo.

Schumer Bloodstock purchased eight horses in Europe during 2013 - 2014. In addition to Osratty, they include:

BLAMELESS and ENTREATY: bought for €22,000 and 11,000gns, they later became half-sisters to Godolphin's current Classic prospect Very Talented

GHUSOON: bought for 7,500gns, this daughter of Red Ransom is a half-sister to Zawraq, subsequently an unbeaten Listed winner

UTOPIQUE: bought for €8,000, this daughter of Falco is a half-sister to subsequent Listed winner Tristesse

ASPERITES: bought for €15,000, this daughter of Danehill Dancer won her second American start at Churchill Downs

* SHY ROSA: bought for 10,000gns, this daughter of Dixie Union went on to win five races and turn over approximately $100,000 for connections within six months of purchase

We'll be at all the major European sales again this year.

Further success was forthcoming for both Great Minds and Strawberry Baby on Saturday as the pair secured stakes victories within hours of each other.

The pair are out of Staff Nurse and Kendall Hill respectively, who were purchased for a total of just $17,000 by Chad Schumer, as agent.

Saturday's Borgata Stakes at Delta Downs was a deserved first stakes success for Great Minds, who has been a consistently progressive performer for trainer Al Stall. Fresh off a Delta Downs allowance victory, he tracked the pace early in the mile event before drawing off for a length score. In the process, the son of Stroll boosted his overall record to four victories for approximately $170,000 in earnings.

Great Minds is out of Staff Nurse, a winning daughter of Arch who was bought for just $15,000 by Chad Schumer while in foal to Trappe Shot at the 2015 Keeneland November Sale.

Great Minds is the best of five winners out his dam, who is a three-parts sister to Listed winner Intern and from the immediate family of Commissioner.

Strawberry Baby, meanwhile, recorded her second stakes victory when running out the comfortable winner of the Big Easy Stakes at the Fair Grounds. Now the winner of five of nine starts and approximately $135,000, Strawberry Baby is out of Kendall Hill, who was purchased for just $2,000 out of the Liberation Farm dispersal at the 2012 Keeneland November Sale.

Kendall Hill, a Theatrical daughter of G2 winner Blue Jean Baby, is also the dam of another classy filly in Adriani, who also gained black-type following the sale of her dam.

Also on Saturday, Harmonic made a pleasing return off a long layoff for Brendan Walsh when third in a competitive allowance race at Gulfstream Park. The G3-placed son of Congrats, who was knocked down to Chad Schumer for $70,000 at last year's Fasig-Tipton Summer Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale in Kentucky, made good late headway under Fergal Lynch to take third behind Conquest Typhoon.
