REDESDALE

We are greatly looking forward to the debuts of Redesdale’s first crop of 2yos this year.

REDESDALE (Speightstown – Harpia by Danzig) stands at McMahon Of Saratoga Thoroughbreds in New York. Campaigned by Chad Schumer and Brendan Walsh, he was the dominating winner of his first three starts over 6f. But what makes him a particularly exciting stallion prospect is the fact that he is a member of arguably the most powerful stallion family in the world.

By Speightstown, he is out of G3 winner Harpia, a Danzig sister to the outstanding stallion DANEHILL. Danehill sired 347 stakes winners during his illustrious stud career and is widely regarded as one of the greatest influences in the Stud Book.

Chad Schumer said: “I don’t think you can find a more powerful stallion family worldwide than that belonging to Razyana and Natalma, and for a competitive fee, Redesdale offers the breeders the chance to tap into just that.

“His race record offers a snapshot of the abundant talent that we know this horse possessed. We are in no doubt that he would have had the speed to be competitive with the best around had injury not intervened and we are looking forward to supporting him strongly at stud.”

Redesdale’s first crop of yearlings sold for up to $140,000, a massive return on his $2,500 fee.

“Redesdale showed exceptional talent to go undefeated through his first three starts. He is by Champion Sprinter and exceptional sire, Speightstown, out of a sister to Danehill, a 14 time Champion Sire who was a breed-shaping stallion on two continents, and is from the immediate family of Northern Dancer and Halo…” ALAN PORTER
