His dam, Danehill’s relation Unreachable, was a private purchase after failing to sell for $55,000 in foal to Good Magic at the 2020 Keeneland January Sale. Her resulting colt by Good Magic sold for $325,000 to the China Horse Club at Saratoga

FIRST EMPIRE: leading Canadian 2yo, winner of the Soaring Free Stakes, is out of Schumer B/S purchase SILSITA

MIDNIGHT SANDS: purchased privately with Brown Island Stables after failing to sell at the Keeneland September Sale, this son of Speightstown recently romped in the G3 Burj Nahaar for Doug Watson.

British G3 winner KENZAI WARRIOR: bought for just $6,000 as a yearling with Brown Island Stables.

SARACOSA: homebred filly for Schumer Bloodstock and Meritage Ventures, Inc. has been G2-placed in 2020; dam Homeschooling was purchased for $105,000

THE KING CHEEK: 2021 Sir Barton Stakes winner is out of private purchase Selfie

SUMMERONSEVENHILLS: two-time British winner recently ran 3rd in the Lingfield Derby Trial. Purchased privately out of the Keeneland September Sale

HOT ZONE: a private purchase off the track by War Front, she is a half-sister to recent G2 Sorrento Stakes runner-up GET ON THE BUS

PREMIER STAR: easy Jersey Shore Stakes winner is out of Lettthetigerparty, a private purchase

*Stallion purchases of WORLDLY and FRIENDS LAKE are both G1 sires of 2021. In Chile, stallion purchase AHORA is the sire of leading 2yo filly LA TRAFA (out of Schumer B/S purchase Belinda Bold).

In the past few years, Schumer Bloodstock have also purchased the dams of the following horses BEFORE they were STAKES WINNERS of 2018 - 19:

My Boy Jack, an excellent 5th in the Kentucky Derby following wins in the G3 Southwest and G3 Lexington Stakes; his dam was purchased in 2016 for $8,000

Soldier’s Call; his dam was purchased for $15,000 in 2014. A top-class British 2yo, he won the G2 Flying Childers Stakes and ran a close 3rd against older horses in the G1 Prix de l’Abbaye. Also G1-placed in 2019, Soldier’s Call retires to Ballyhane Stud in Ireland for 2020.

Madras Check, recent Listed Hosu Stakes winner on the Japanese Oaks undercard; her dam Gloat was purchased for $550,000 in 2015

Jennifer, recent 10-length winner of a stakes in Saudi Arabia; her dam Gunforhome for purchased for $22,000 in 2015

RayyaG3 UAE Oaks winner; her dam was purchased for $2,200

Saracosa, carried Chad Schumer’s colours to victory in the Bob Fortus Memorial Stakes – beating G1 winner Out For A Spin; her dam was purchased for $105,000

Exoteric, a two-time Listed winner for Chris Waller in Australia just weeks following the sale of his dam Short Dance for $6,000 in November 2018 to Schumer Bloodstock

Also impressive European maiden winners Acquitted and Blame The Ruler – both bred by Schumer Bloodstock out of €22,000 Goffs November Sale purchase Blameless

Schumer Bloodstock also purchased, Shooting Party, the granddam of KENTUCKY DERBY winner COUNTRY HOUSE and G3 Gallorette Stakes winner Mitchell Road, for $50,000

Also purchased – the dams of stakes winners WELDER (dam purchased for $22,000), GIANNA’S DREAM (dam purchased for $10,000), BLACK STETSON (dam purchased for $45,000), SPRING STEEN (dam purchased for $35,000) and PRINCE OF HEMPT (dam purchased for $20,000) in addition to the stakes-placed Kelly’s Humor (G1-placed; $12,000), Cardini (a G2-placed 2yo of 2018 for Aidan O’Brien; $31,000), Pipes ($24,000) and Salt Bae ($45,000; her dam Agatha was also represented by a $700,000 yearling in 2018).

Recent stakes performers who were bought as yearlings include: G3 winner SAHAM (bought for $100,000); ES’HAIL, 3rd in the G1 Qatar Derby and winner of the Very Nice Name Cup at Doha, Qatar (bought for $70,000); Swedish Champion VICTOR KALEJS (bought for $10,000); Listed-placed RUA AUGUSTA (bought for $22,000); MIDNIGHT SANDS, a multiple winner in Dubai and contender for the G1 Breeders’ Cup Mile etc

  • Kip Deville, multiple G1 winner including the Breeders’ Cup Mile; his dam was purchased for $6,000. Further, Kip Deville was from the second crop of Kipling, who was retired to stand at Mighty Acres in Oklahoma in a deal brokered by Chad Schumer
  • Keen Ice, who defeated American Pharoah in the G1 Travers Stakes and now stands at Calumet Farm in Kentucky; his dam was purchased for $80,000 at Keeneland
