Waqtuk, a $60,000 OBS 2yos in training purchase by Chad Schumer, ran out the easy six-length winner of the Saeed Al Majed Cup (local Gr.3) at Riyadh on Saturday.
Owned by ALassail Stable, the Not This Time colt has rapidly developed into the one of the leaders of his generation in Saudi Arabia. He won his second start, a 19-runner maiden over 6f, and followed up in an 18-runner conditions race over 7f. The Saaed Al Majed Cup presented a different test being over a mile and against older horses but he was even more impressive, drawing clear for a wide margin success.
Waqtuk was bred in Kentucky by Peter M. Terminie out of How Sweet It Is, a winning daughter of Scat Daddy. He was bought by Chad Schumer on behalf of current connections from Wavertree Stables at the OBS June Sale.
