Fancy Day looks to have thrown another potentially smart one in Blame Day, who made all to break her maiden at Fair Grounds. The three-year-old Blame filly is the third foal out of Fancy Day, whose first two foals are both black-type; Cabo Spirit won last year’s Grade 2 Twilight Derby and Grade 3 La Jolla Handicap while Convention is multiple stakes-placed.
Each update has arrived since Fancy Day‘s purchase for $130,000 by Chad Schumer on behalf of Yancy Williams in November 2021.
Fancy Day, a winning Shamardal relation to Tiznow and Oxbow, also has a Yoshida two-year-old filly and a yearling colt by War Of Will who sold for $195,000 last November. Also this week, Hurry Hurry made an impressive winning debut at Turfway Park for Brad Cox. The first-crop son of Accelerate is out of $27,000 purchase Grassy Nellie and was bred by Lannister Holdings.
