Another win for $175,000 earner Lagynos

Yearling purchase Lagynos took his earnings to over $175,000 on Saturday with an easy win in allowance company at Churchill Downs.

Previously successful in a $150,000 MSW at Kentucky Downs prior to running third in a hot allowance, the Kantharos colt brought his record to two wins from just three starts for owner HRH Prince Sultan bin Mishal al Saud and trainer Steve Asmussen.

Lagynos was purchased by Chad Schumer for $200,000 out of the Valkyre Stud consignment as a Keeneland September yearling.

He was bred in Kentucky by Robert Spiegel out of Steamy, a daughter of Speightstown who is also the dam of G3 winner Vision Perfect.

Lagynos continues a good run for Schumer Bloodstock graduates that includes Heavenly Thought (bought for $22,000), the dam of impressive Aqueduct debut maiden winner Elysian Meadows.

In Saudi Arabia, 2yo purchase Off The Map won for the second time in four starts while Fonder, out of $16,000 purchase Orbital Affair, broke his maiden. In Dubai, yearling purchase Made In Dubai won again for Sheikh Mohammed bin Mohammed al Maktoum; the son of More Than Ready was pinhooked out of Fasig-Tipton to sell in Newmarket at the Tattersalls Craven Sale.
