Elysian Meadows again looked a colt to follow on Friday when maintaining his unbeaten record in allowance company at Aqueduct. Previously successful in a MSW for Bill Mott, the two-year-old City Of Light colt again showed a fine attitude to take up the running at the eighth pole before holding off Mischief Joke for a comfortable score.
He provides a smart update for his dam Heavenly Thought, a War Front relation to champion Falbrav who was bought by Schumer Bloodstock for $28,000 at last year’s Keeneland November Sale in foal to Audible.
Elysian Meadows’ win followed hot on the heels of that of Angel Kiss in a MSW at Remington Park on Thursday. The Frosted filly, a $80,000 two-year-olds in training purchase who has also been placed fourth in a pair of stakes, was bred by Center Hills Farm, which purchased her in utero through Schumer Bloodstock for $18,000 at the 2020 Keeneland November Sale.
Saturday’s action, meanwhile, saw another two-year-old, Fonder, score his second straight victory at Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. The Patriot Act colt is out of Orbital Affair, an El Corredor mare purchased for current connections for just $16,000 in foal to California Chrome by Chad Schumer as agent.
