Gr.3 win for Just for Sul highlights successful Riyadh meeting

Highlighted as a ‘Saudi icon’ by the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia, Prince Sultan Bin Mishal Al Saud’s Just For Sul (pictured) added to her popularity on Friday with an emphatic win in the Japan Cup, a local Group 3, at Riyadh.

Already winner of three races, including the Um Eiqura University Cup and Prince Abdullah bin Jalopy Cup, the Schumer Bloodstock purchase pulled clear for a near four-length win.

The daughter of Justify was purchased by Chad Schumer as agent as a two-year-old from the Wavertree Stables consignment at the OBS Spring Sale. She is a half-sister to the G1-placed Family Way and out of Susie’s Baby, a Giant’s Causeway half-sister to Caravaggio.

Also in Riyadh, Yuafiquk Allah enhanced his reputation when easily making it two from two in allowance company on Thursday. The Medaglia d’Oro colt, who is out of Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint heroine Belvoir Bay, was knocked down to Schumer Bloodstock as a Keeneland September yearling and resold through the Powerstown Stud draft at last year’s Arqana May Sale. His win followed hot on the heels of the six-length Riyadh maiden success of Nermeen (More Than Ready), another Powerstown breezer knocked down to Schumer Bloodstock as a Keeneland September yearling. She was later resold at the Goffs Dubai Breeze-Up Sale.
