Schumer Bloodstock graduates pulled off a big international double on Friday as Valdivia and Almad’Agi struck in Dubai and Saudi Arabia.
Tough 5yo Valdivia became a three-time winner in the 1m2f handicap at Meydan, powering from the back of the field to win by over four lengths in the colours of Sultan Ali. Trained by Ahmad bin Harmash, the son of Demarchelier is out of Secret Quality (pictured), who was bought for just $7,000 with KGS in November 2024 – since then her Gun Runner filly Drop The Hammer has also won.
Over in Riyadh, Almad’Agi captured one of the features of the International Jockeys Challenge card, the $250,000 Al Sarawak Cup.
The Honor A.P. 3yo won by an easy three-and-a-half lengths to take his career record to three wins in six starts for owner Abdulelah Abdul Aziz Almousa and trainer Ahmed Abdulwahed.
Bred by Khalid Ibraheem Alsyari, Almad’Agi was purchased in utero through Schumer Bloodstock for $15,000 at the 2022 Keeneland November Sale; he is out of the City Zip mare Stasha Minasha.
