Schumer Bloodstock’s Saudi Arabian purple patch continued on Friday with the win of 2yo purchase My Map in the Prince Fahad Bin Jalawi Cup at Riyadh.
The son of Liam’s Map was purchased for $100,000 by Chad Schumer from De Meric Sales at the 2022 OBS March 2yos in Training Sale in Florida. Friday’s victory brings his record to six wins in 15 starts for HRH Prince Sultan bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz – other highlights include the JSCA Award at Ta’If and Saudi Derby qualifier at Riyadh.
My Map‘s win follows that of 3yo Waqtuk (Not This Time), a $60,000 2yo purchase on behalf of ALassail Stable who won last week’s G3 Jockey Club Cup by six lengths on his first try against older horses. Another 2yo purchase, Off The Map, was also the recent winner of the Gulf Cup at Riyadh; the daughter of Liam’s Map was bought for just $30,000.
