Sound money, purchased in utero for just $23,000, runs away with meydan g3 to cap big day

Sound Money was being hailed as the best sprinter in Dubai on Saturday after running away with the Group 3 Mahab Al Shimaal.

A classy performer for Chad Brown, Sound Money made a scintillating debut for Bhupat Seemar, travelling strongly for Mikael Barzalona before sprinting clear for a wide-margin success.

He was bred by Lannister Holdings and Glidawn Stud out of Vegas Trip, a daughter of Aldebaran purchased by Chad Schumer carrying Sound Money for $23,000. His sire Flatter was standing for $40,000 at the time, and indeed Sound Money went on to sell for $200,000 as a foal.

He’s a very talented horse as we saw in the US. He broke good, and I knew I had plenty in hand all the way round. Hopefully he’ll improve again for World Cup night. He’s a massive horse and I’m pretty sure he’ll come on again.

Barzalona

His win capped a momentous Super Saturday for us that also featured the victory of $45,000 yearling purchase Go Soldier Go in the Listed Al Bastakiya.
