The great run of Schumer Bloodstock graduates continued in Saudi Arabia on Friday as My Map ran out the impressive winner of the Saudi Derby qualifier.
Owned by Prince Sultan bin Mishal bin A/Aziz, My Map (by Liam’s Map) was purchased for $100,000 at OBS last spring. His victory represented the fourth win in as many starts following wide-margin successes at Ta’If and the Jockey Club Award at Riyadh.
Fellow Schumer purchase Ready To Connect, already a two-time winner, ran well in fourth.
His win came on the same card that Schumer Bloodstock purchase First Defence sired the Mishrif Bin Motlaq Bin Shanaan Cup winner Alamawee. Sire of the Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Siskin during his time as a Juddmonte stallion, First Defence is now a successful sire in Saudi Arabia.
My Map continues a great run for our 2yo purchases, with Smoky Quartz also breaking her maiden by over seven lengths on Thursday. The daughter of Bayern was bought for $100,000 out of the draft of De Meric Sales at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Sale.
