Grigna Del Nord, a $35,000 Keeneland September yearling purchase, looked a filly with a future on Tuesday when landing her third start, a conditions race at Chantilly in France.
The daughter of More Than Ready overcame traffic problems to run down Al Shaqab Racing’s to win by a short head for Gianluca Bietolini and owner Massimo Benedetti.
Bred by White Birch Farm out of the Listed-winning Smart Strike mare Lady Of Kyushu, Grigna Del Nord was purchased by Chad Schumer as agent for $35,000 out of the Claiborne Farm draft at the Keeneland September Sale. She was resold through Leamore Horses at the Arqana May Sale in France for €80,000 to Valfredo Valiani.
